As the World Cup 2024 approaches, excitement is building among cricket fans around the world. For the first time, the tournament will be jointly hosted by United States and West Indies. Here is  a detailed look on what you can expect based on the confirmed information se far.

The 2024 world cup will be hosted by USA alongside West Indies from 1st June-29th June 2024. The joint hosting is expected to introduce cricket to a broader audience in the US. West Indies will be hosting the T20 world cup for the second time after the 2010 edition, whereas it will be the first ICC event played in US.

Tournament Format:

The 2024 world cup will follow a similar format to the 2019 edition. The 20 qualifying teams have been divided into 4 groups of 5 teams. The top two teams in each group will advance too the Super 8 round. The qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four. The top two teams will qualify for knockout stage, which will consist of two semi-finals and a final.
